Wayne M. Webb, 89, of Kearney died Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Gary Main will officiate and inurnment of ashes will be at Kearney Cemetery. Wayne was born May 14, 1922 in Kearney to Milton and Nell (Turley) Webb. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1941then attended Kearney State College. He farmed and ranched north of Odessa.
On June 25, 1982 he married Wilma McClemens in Kearney. The couple continued farming at Odessa until retiring and moving to Kearney in 1990.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, usher and many other committees through the years. He was also a member of Rob Morris Masonic Lodge #46, Tehama Temple Shrine and the Kearney Elks Lodge #984. He is a past president of the Farm Bureau and had served on boards for the Odessa Township, Kearney Rural Fire District #1 and the Kearney Coop.
Wayne was involved with 4-H and the Buffalo county fair and also did volunteer work at the Good Samaritan Hospital for many years. He received the Kearney Hub Freedom Award for Agriculture and the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award in 1993.
