Jack E. Shuler

November 19, 1939 - December 25, 2020

Jack Eugene Shuler, age 81, of Kearney, passed away, Friday, December 25, 2020 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Gibbon Faith United Methodist Church. Jack was born November 19, 1939 in Findley, Ohio to William and Dorotha Shuler. He attended Findley High School and graduated from Oakland Community College. He was also a member of the United States Air Force, serving from 1960 to 1964 and receiving an honorable discharge. He was based at Harmon Air Force Base in Newfoundland, Canada where he met his wife Helen S. Jones. They married on June 25, 1963 in Curling, Newfoundland, Canada. After his military service, he worked 40 years for Dana Corporation in Toledo, Ohio and Syracuse, Indiana. In 2016 he and Helen moved to Kearney to be near family. Jack enjoyed drag racing, fishing, hunting, toy truck and tractor collecting and watching sports. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen; children Mike (Julie) Shuler, Cynthia (Philip) Miller and Tonya (Steve Reimers) Cretacci; grandchildren, Cass (Matthew Ludwig) Ludwig-Davis, Holly (Eric) Barnes, Dylan, Kalem, and Trevor Lockhorn, Dayton and Sadie Miller, Tyler (Jordan) Cretacci, and Brandi Cretacci; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorotha Shuler, a sister, Dottie Witt and a son, Douglas Shuler.
