Janet 'Jan' E. Larsen Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Janet ‘Jan’ E. Larsen, age 79, of Kearney, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at CountryHouse Residence in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2022 at Minden United Methodist Church with Pastor Peter Choi officiating. Burial will follow at the Minden Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to CountryHouse Residence or Ascera Care Hospice of Kearney. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Jan was born in Franklin, Nebraska on April 23, 1943 to LaVern and Eleanor Rudd. She grew up in Upland, NE., was confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and graduated form Upland Public Schools in 1960. In 1962, Jan married Terry Larsen, her joy and love for over 60 years, and to this union, Mark and Kristin were born. Jan and Terry farmed near Minden, NE., for forty years and upon retirement moved to Estes Park, CO. They resided in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains until 2015 when they moved to Kearney, NE. Jan loved life-her husband, family, and friends and was always interested in learning everyone’s life story. She enjoyed listening to music, going to movies, playing cards and Bridge with family and friends, travelling, caring for her pets and spending time in Estes Park, CO. Jan will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who loved her-who are more than grateful to have been a part of her life. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Terry Larsen of Kearney; daughter Kristin Larsen of Kearney; son Mark (Cheryl) Larsen of Minden; sister Marge (Glenn) Hillhouse of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Vonda and Al Grams.
