Jay A. Wilson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jay Alan Wilson, age 58, of Bertrand, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Per Jay’s wishes, there will be no service. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later. Jay was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Robert and Donna (Cartano) Wilson. He attended Overton High School where he participated in sports and later earned his GED. Jay met his future wife, Brenda Barth in September of 1980, later married in August of 1990 and had two daughters, Jessica and Jamie. Jay was an active part of the farming community. He worked at FFC/Aurora Coop for many years where he made several friends along the way. Jay enjoyed the outdoors including, hunting, fishing, and target shooting. He also loved trying his luck at the casinos and perfecting his grilling and smoking skills. Jay will always be remembered for his light heartedness and sarcasm. He loved spending time with his family and watching Husker football. Jay will be deeply missed by all why knew him. Jay is survived by his wife, Brenda (Barth) Wilson of Bertrand, his daughters, Jessica and Jamie Wilson of Kearney, his mother, Donna (Cartano) Wilson of Overton, his brothers, Doug (Debbie) Wilson of Wellington, Florida, and Dennis (Patti) Wilson of Hilton Head, South Carolina, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wilson.
