Linda J. Gable, age 70, of Kearney, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kearney First Church of God. Pastor Mitch Ivy will officiate and burial will be at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and also 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Linda was born on April 7, 1952 to Lloyd and Shirley (Thompson) Hughes in Modesto, CA. She attended Thomas Downey High School in Modesto and graduated in 1970. She met and later married Charlie R. Gable on May 23, 1981. Linda and Charlie eventually moved to Kearney where Charlie worked at Good Samaritan Hospital. Charlie later accepted the position of Pastor at the Kearney Church of God. Linda was active in many areas of ministry in the church throughout the years, specifically the Ladies Sunrise Bible Study. Surviving relatives include her husband, Charlie of Kearney; children, Shawna (Jeff) Parr of Kenesaw, NE, John (Lori) Ripley of Owensboro, KY, Tyrone Gable of Tulsa, OK, Angelika (Jim) Hooko of Broken Arrow, OK, Michael Gable of Omaha, NE, Aaron Gable of Kearney, NE, Shannon Gable of Hastings, NE, Natasha Gable of Kearney, NE, William Gable of Kearney, NE, Darrin Gable of Kearney, NE, Joshua Gable of Kearney, Daniel Gable of Kearney, Noah (Jamilla) Gable of Omaha, NE and Sarah Gable of Kearney, NE; sister, Donna Itturreria of Modesto, CA; grandchildren, Nyah Jones, Corbin Carpenter, Emilyah Parr, Kaya Gable, Samira Gable, DJ Gable, Reagan Hooko, Mila Gable and Adeline Gable; several other extended family and friends.
