Paul D. Bartels, 73, of Kearney, died Friday, February 4, 2022 at his residence in Kearney. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, February 10, 2022 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Tim Barone officiating. Burial will follow the service at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, February 9, 2022 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or AseraCare Hospice. Paul D. Bartels was born October 23, 1948 in Campbell, Nebraska to Herbert and Mildred (Evers) Bartels. He grew up in Upland, Nebraska and graduated from Upland High School in 1967. In 1972 Paul purchased his first semi-truck and grain trailer. This began his fifty-year career in the trucking business. On August 2, 1976 Paul Married Brenda Lindquist in Kearney. At the time of his death, he was owner/operator of Paul Bartels Trucking. Paul is survived by hi wife Brenda Bartels of Kearney; son Charlie Bartels of Lincoln, NE; daughters, Jennifer Bartels of Kearney, Sara Bartels of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Diann and Robert Grams of Kearney, Lana and Rodney Reiner of Aurora, CO; brothers, Larry Bartels of Inavale, NE, Warren and Becky Bartels of Aurora, CO, and Bob Bartels of Upland, NE. Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
