Robert N. Burton, 83, of McCook, died peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center. Services will take place Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE. Military honors will be provided at graveside. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials in the form of donations to Fisher House, a cause that supports military families around the world. He attended school in Stratton before serving in the United Sates Navy. Robert worked for many years in the McCook area in delivery and distribution for 7-Up Bottling Company. Robert’s favorite pastime was coaching his 3 sons’ little league baseball teams. Surviving relatives include his sons, Mark (Kim) Burton of Everett, WA and Brent (Erica) Burton of Phoenix, AZ; daughter in law, Shelly Rae of England; granddaughters, Jenny (Lee) Valentine, Felicity and Elly; grandsons Noah and Liam; sisters, Pat (Robert) Bellamy of Loveland, CO, Peggy Schelling of Kearney and Pam (Larry) Corder of Kearney; brother, Raymond (Cindy) Burton of Ulysses, KS; several other extended family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert Ray Burton; brothers, Richard and Corky; brother in law, Hank Schelling.
