    December 25, 1981 - November 17, 2021

    Ryan A. Oran, 39, of Houston, TX passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services. Pastor Alan Davis will officiate and burial will be at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Boy Scouts of America, National Capital Area Council, Bethesda Maryland. Please visit www.hlmkfuneral.com to leave a tribute or message of condolence. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. Ryan was born on December 25, 1981 to Gary and Janet (Petersen) Oran in Springfield, MO. He attended school in Maryland and graduated from Quince Orchard High School in 2000. He attended Montgomery College in Rockville, MD. Ryan was an Eagle Scout. He was a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association. As an Eagle Scout, he served in the Honor Guard for President Gerald Ford’s funeral at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. He also trained adult scout leaders in outdoor skills. Ryan enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and marching in the Quince Orchard High School Marching Band. But his favorite activity was to play with his nephew Mason Osment and his niece Madison Osment. Ryan loved living in Texas. He thought living in Texas was like a permanent vacation. Surviving relatives include his parents, Gary and Janet Oran of Houston, TX; sister Jenny Oran Osment and brother-in-law Wil Osment; nephew, Mason Osment; niece, Madison Osment. Survivors also include Peggy Oran and family, Carol Huffman and family, Alan Oran and family, Curt Oran and family and Ron Petersen and family. Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Erma Petersen and his paternal grandparents, Carl and Bernice Oran
