William E. “Bill” Meier, 84, of Kearney, died November 21, 2021 at the Brookdale Long-Term Care facility in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Kearney. Rev. Drs. Rick and Michelle Carlson will officiate and burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery with military honors provided. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Bill was born on November 14, 1937 in Minden, NE to William H. and Amelia Mabel (Utter) Meier. He attended and graduated from Minden High School. Bill served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1958-1962. He married Rosella M. Zimmerman on June 4, 1969 in Kearney. Bill worked for 37 years as manager of Zimmerman’s Printing in Kearney prior to his retirement and when he and his wife sold the business in 2006. Bill and his wife enjoyed country line dancing. In 2007, they opened Meier's Ballroom in Gibbon where they taught country line dancing and hosted many events. The last function at the ballroom before they sold it in 2017 was to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Bill enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, motorcycle riding, engraving and photography. He volunteered at Kearney Senior Center and the Classic Car Collection. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Kearney. Surviving relatives include his daughters, Kelli Meier of Phoenix, AZ and Kambi and Nathan Jecminek of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Taylor Jecminek and Maximus Jecminek; both of Aurora, CO Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosella
