Zola Mae Johnson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Zola M. Johnson, 87, of Kearney died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society – St. Luke’s in Kearney. Services will be Friday, August 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Rev. Larry Michael-Rush will officiate and burial will follow at the Sumner Cemetery, Sumner, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. Zola was born October 18, 1930 in Kearney, NE to Sheridan and Lottie (Clark) Davison. She grew up in the Kearney area then graduated from Holdrege High School in 1948 then attended Grand Island School of Business. She worked at Palmer Brothers Monument in Holdrege for a couple of years. On April 19, 1955 she married Paul W. Johnson at the Holcomb Church, north of Holdrege. The couple lived in Omaha then Lexington then moved to Sumner where they farmed just south of town. While living in Sumner Zola drove the school bus for several years. Her husband died in 1998 and she moved to St. Luke’s in Kearney in 2008. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Kearney. Surviving relatives include her son, Stephen Johnson of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren, Aaron Johnson and wife Lisa of Aurora, CO and Lindsey Paige and fiancée Michael Martinez and Amy Johnson both of Grand Island; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Duane Davison and wife Bev of Funk, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Lee Davison.
