Esther E. Jameson, age 83, of Amherst, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at her home.Funeral Services will be Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Amherst with Pastor Bert Mueller officiating.Burial will be at the Stanley Cemetery near Amherst.Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.Memorials suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Fund, Amherst Methodist Quilting Club, or the Amherst Volunteer Fire Department.A message of condolence, tribute or memory can be left at www.hlmkfuneral.com.Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements. Esther was born September 30, 1927 on the family farm north of Amherst to Oscar and Anna (Rusch) Hemmann.She was baptized October 30, 1927 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church.On March 17, 1940 she renewed her baptismal vow through being confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church.Esther was given her confirmation verse 1 Corinthians 6:20 ?Ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God?s.?She attended school at District #74, Prairie Dell and Parochial School at Immanuel Lutheran Church.After her schooling she stayed home and helped with the housework and cared for her mother.She attended Walther League activities, and worked at Mother Hull Home for a short period of time.She married the love of her life James Norman Jameson on August 15, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Amherst.They lived on and farmed his dad?s place northeast of Amherst.With growing up on the farm and now a new farm wife she assisted with farm chores including raising chickens, milking cows, raising pigs and feeding hogs and cattle, gardening, canning, baking, cooking, sewing, and crocheting.She was a hard worker devoted to taking care of her family (children and grandchildren).Esther was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, HOP Club, and a choir member of both churches.She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, traveling with her husband, and listening to music especially original Carter family and Johnny Cash, country and western, and several of the local performers.
