Beverly A. Pofahl

Beverly A. Pofahl, 78, of Kearney, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney. Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the New Life Church with Rev. Roger Wendt and Dean Pofahl officiating. Private family burial will be at the Stanley Cemetery near Amherst. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation to the Sue Bush Arbor at Yanney Heritage Park. Beverly was born September 2, 1936 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Amber and Leona (Glaser) Seeman. She grew up in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1954. She then attended college at Norfolk Community College. Beverly married Dean Pofahl on September 1, 1957 at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. They moved to Amherst in 1975, where Dean was the pastor of the Amherst and Miller Methodist Church, and she worked as a church secretary. Beverly also worked as the office manager at St. Luke’s Good Samaritan Village in Kearney for 17 years, and then at the Kearney Visitors Bureau. After retiring she volunteered her time at the Kearney Law Enforcement Center. Beverly attended New Life Church in Kearney. She enjoyed sewing, doing needlepoint, embroidery, crocheting, and quilting for her children and grandchildren. Beverly is survived by her husband Dean Pofahl of Kearney, daughters Julia Klingelhoefer and husband Kevin of Amherst, Elizabeth Seaman and husband Alan of Lincoln, son Theodore “Tate” Pofahl and wife Dynae of Kearney, son in law Dr. Stephen Bush of Kearney, brother Terry Seeman and wife Jelene of Bull Head City, AZ, grandchildren Arika Russell and husband Todd of Cozad, Emelia Brandt and husband Jon of Kearney, Vanessa Miller and husband Rickey of Kearney, Kristina Zechmann and husband Michael of Omaha, Faron Klingelhoefer of Kearney, Stella Klingelhoefer of Amherst, Dr. Katherine Goodwin and husband Wade of Kearney, Camille Bush of Kearney, Tucker and Dylan Seaman of Lincoln, Abi, Ashton, Carli, Cassidy, Joshua, and Levi Pofahl of Kearney, and 10 great grandchildren.
