Billy C. Carlson, age 86, of Axtell, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at his home. Memorial services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Home in Kearney with Chaplain Holden Barry officiating. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements. Born In Grand Island, Nebraska July 3rd, 1938, to Albert Carlson and Evelyn Roggie, Carlson. Graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1957-58. He joined the United States Air Force Flew the Wild Blue Yonder. Stationed in England where he met his first Wife Charlotte Weber and to this union 3 sons were born. Phillip, (Pam) Hughes Carlson, Andrew, (Nancy) Theismeyer, Carlson, James Carlson. Was Stationed in Japan, California, Delaware, Texas and Arizona. Served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Evelyn Carlson, Sister Sonja Miller, and Brother Tom Carlson. Bill leaves behind his wife Keta of 31 years. They were married on June 4, 1994, In Grand Island. Keta has 5 children Gary Ray, Kevin Leroy, Troy Lynn, Tine Marie and Brenda Lea. Bill Accepted them but he favored Kevin. 5 Grand Children, 3 Step Grand Children 14 Great Grand Children and one on the way. He worked and a Jewelry Store in Grand Island for a few years and then transferred to Kearney to work for Davidson Jewelry. He was there 12 years. He then went to work for Community Action and Drove the R.Y.D.E. Bus for 12 years. He and Keta belonged to the Circle B Square Dance Club in Grand Island where he learned to Square Dance. (He said he didn't like those line dances as they danced to those when they were on cattle drives and didn't have women to dance with.) He and Keta joined the Kearney Flutter Wheels Square Dance Club. There he became President and was also President of the Central Nebraska Federation Square Dance Association. He Square Danced in the South Loup River, and in the Old Republican City in the Lake Bottom at Harlan Lake, plus at all the camp sites we camped at. Camped with the Square Dance Camping Club. He enjoyed every minute of it. This was the best time of his life. RSP My love
