Carla R. Wick, 38, of Kearney died Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Amherst. Rev. Bert Mueller will officiate and burial will be at the Immanuel Cemetery.There will be no visitation.Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the family to establish a college fund for Carla?s Nieces and Nephews.A message of condolence, tribute or memory can be left at www.hlmkfuneral.com.Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Service of Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Carla was born on January 28, 1972 in Kearney to Harold M. and Nancy S. (Rodehorst) Wick.She attended Amherst High School where she was involved in a variety of extracurricular activities.She received the Abilities Award from the Governor of Nebraska. Carla received many superior awards while in high school for her performances in Speech and also Vocal and Percussion Solos.She graduated from Amherst High School in 1990 and then attended the University of Nebraska in Kearney.Carla earned a Bachelor?s Degree and later a Masters Degree from UNK while graduating Summa Cum Laude.She was a member and Officer of the UNK Mortar Board.Carla was also involved in the Amherst Community Choir and the Trinity Lutheran Church.She worked for a number of years as a Customer Service Representative for the Kearney Hub.
