Darrell M. Hibberd

Darrell M. Hibberd, 76, of Kearney, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., May 17, 2019 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Cremation Services with Pastor Dean Pofahl officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, May 16, 2019 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services and one hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later. Darrell was born December 31, 1942 in Kearney to Ernest and Edith (McTavish) Hibberd. He attended school in Riverdale and Amherst. Darrell married Viola Loeffelholz on February 1, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Prairie Center. He worked at Holmes Plumbing for 27 years and then True Value for 8 years. Darrell enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, gardening and taking care of his lawn, playing cards, bowling in league, and having coffee with family and friends. Darrell is survived by his wife Viola Hibberd of Kearney; sons, Terry Hibberd and wife Heather, Gary Hibberd and wife Lisa, Bryan Hibberd, David Hibberd and wife Karen all of Kearney; grandchildren, Megan Everett and husband Lucas, Hannah Hibberd and fiancée Logan Kizer, Austin Hibberd, Trevor Hibberd, Trey Hibberd, Haley Hibberd, Conner Hibberd, Nathan Hibberd; sisters, Evelyn Wuehler and husband Merle of Kearney, Ruby Fisher of Beatrice, NE, Janet Hansen and husband Maynard of Grant, NE, Jeanne Albright of Kearney, Joyce Bosshamer and husband Kenneth of Kearney, Barbara Wuehler and husband Larry of Kearney; brothers, Jerry Hibberd and wife Donna of Milo, MO, Larry Hibberd and wife Darlene of Argyle, TX, Robert Hibberd and wife Joyce of Kearney; sisters in law, Anita Hibberd of Grand Junction, CO, Lucile Hibberd of Westminster, CO, Ruth Kreutzer, of Kearney, Marilyn Danielson and husband Roger of Holdrege, NE; brother in law, Albert Loeffelholz and wife Janice of Riverdale, NE; aunt, Sylvia McTavish of Grand Island, NE; many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Glen, James, and Dennis Hibberd; sister, Marie Kring; brothers in law, Lowell Fisher, Harlan Kring, and Roland “Sonny” Kreutzer; nephew Nicholas Hibberd.
