David P. Kirby

David P. Kirby, age 27, of Kearney, died on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Larry Brown will officiate and private family burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials for the family can be sent to the funeral home. David was born on March 30, 1998, in Kearney, NE. He graduated high school in Axtell, NE in 2016. He then went on to graduate from Central Community College in 2018 with an associate’s degree in welding. He was employed with Chief Agri in Kearney as a welder since 2019. David married his love, Bre, on April 23, 2022. They then welcomed their daughter, Eleanor Jeanne, on May 17, 2023. David’s life revolved around his wife and daughter. Some of his favorite moments were taking Eleanor to the park to go down the slide over and over again and having Lego date nights with Bre. He also loved all things Star Wars, Marvel, grilling year-round and he had a deep love for music. He loved any and all animals and creatures. All who knew him could attest that if it moved and breathed, David considered it a friend. David will be remembered for his polite, gentle, quiet and loving personality, his bright blue eyes and his feet always covered with socks! He was a pure soul who loved deeply. Anyone who knew him will always be considered one of the lucky ones. He will be missed greatly by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Breanna and daughter Eleanor; siblings, Emily (Julio) Galvan of Denver, CO, Melissa (Beau) Gamet of Denver, CO, Krystal (Matt) Richardson of Lincoln, NE, Paige (Tanner Wengler) Kirby of Gering, NE, Thomas (Maggie Moss) Kirby of Hamilton, MT; grandparents Edward and Betty Pierson of Arnold, NE; parents-in-law, Greg and Patsy Kallhoff of Wayne, NE as well as ten nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Pierson.
