Donna F. Phillips

Donna Phillips, born Donna Florence Cooley on July 30, 1939, went to be with her Lord and Savior February 3, 2025 at the age of 85 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. Donna was born in North Adams, Michigan to Carl and Florence (Sabota) Cooley and moved to Florida with her family as a child. She met a truck driver named Harrell Phillips as a young lady in her parents’ sandwich shop in Dunnellon, FL and they were later married on November 2, 1957. They made their home in Williston, FL where they welcomed their five children. A devoted mother and active member of her community, Donna joined First Baptist Church of Williston as a young mom and remained a faithful servant throughout her life. She was also a dedicated supporter of 4-H and FFA, always cheering on the next generation. After Harrell’s passing and as her children grew, Donna embraced life with a spirit of adventure. She found joy in celebrating her ever-growing family and expanding her circle of friends across the country, especially through her love of camping. Her warmth and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed but forever cherished. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Karen (Denny) McKilligan of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Shana (Bart) Beattie of Sumner, NE; sons: Hal (Debbie) Phillips of Morriston, FL, Mike (Alisia) Phillips of Belmont, NC and Jody (Lonnie) Phillips of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Karla (Eric) Peyton, Ryan McKilligan, Harrell (Jess) Phillips, Charles Phillips, Bailey Phillips, Carli Anne Phillips, Trent Phillips, Lexi Phillips, Jena Phillips, Mekenzie (Peyton) Call, Mattie Beattie, Bart Beattie Jr., and Preston Beattie; great grandchildren, McAlister Peyton, Rory Peyton, and Stormie Ruth Call; brothers: Kenneth (Ann) Cooley, New Port Richey, FL and Jerry (Barbara) Cooley, Rising Fawn, GA and a host of nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Carl and Wayne Cooley and sister Virginia Smith. Services will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:30pm at First Baptist Church Williston, FL. Interment at Orange Hill Cemetery will be followed by a dessert fellowship for friends and family at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church. Reverend Mike Phillips and Reverend Jason Owenby will officiate.
