Ethel L. Jacobson, 83, formerly of Riverdale, NE died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at her home in Parker, Colorado. Funeral services will be Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Kearney.Rev. Ethel was born in Elgin, Nebraska on November 1, 1926. She grew up in the Spalding, Custer County, and Mason City areas where she attended rural schools as a girl, graduating as Valedictorian from Ansley High School in 1944.She worked in Kearney as a legal secretary. She was married to Harvey Staab in 1946, bore two children, Roger and Shirley and later divorced in 1952.She was reunited in marriage to Frederick Jacobson in 1960.This union bore two sons, Mark and Paul.The family resided in Riverdale, NE.Frederick Jacobson died in 1985.Ethel moved to Parker, Colorado in September 2009. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grand mother, Ethel was a woman of many interests. She attended First Baptist Church of Kearney and was actively involved in various ministries over the years.In Parker, Colorado, she attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.She enjoyed bible studies, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and genealogy. She is survived by her four children, Roger Staab and his partner Mary Ann Parker residing in Nevada, Shirley Fondu residing in New York, Mark Jacobson and his wife Cynthia residing in Colorado, and Paul Jacobson and his wife Karen also residing in Colorado. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Fondu Caso, David Fondu, Jesse Prince, Christina Jacobson, and Angelina Jacobson; and her great grandchildren: Kai, Benjamin, and Zarah Caso and Cameron Fondu. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Rose Arehart and her four brothers Elmer, Leonard, Lester, and Harold Arehart. We, along with so many others, have been so richly blessed by our loving and kind mother.Her greatness in our lives is a reflection of the Greatness of the One she knew, and whose character of Grace, Love and Truth she reflected in her daily life. Our hearts rest in peace knowing that God is faithful to His promise of eternal life with Him, through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. We love you mom. PDF Printable Version
