Eula L."Billie" Pahl, 91, of Kearney died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, NE. Memorials services will be Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Gary Main will officiate. Private burial at the Kearney Cemetery will be precede services. Visitation with the family will be held following the service at a luncheon at the church. Memorials are suggested to the P.E.O. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Eula Louise (Billie) Warehime Pahl was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma January 29, 1921. She was the second daughter of Howard Franklin Warehime and Leila Lotus Camp Warehime. Billie was raised on a farm near Ingersoll, Oklahoma during the Depression and Dust Bowl. She graduated from Cherokee Oklahoma High School in 1939, where she was on a championship girls’ basketball team. She attended Northwestern State Teacher’s College in Alva, Oklahoma, where she was the president of her sorority. She graduated in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish and Commerce. She married her college sweetheart, Ben H. Pahl on August 29, 1943 at her parent’s farm in Ingersoll, OK. After Ben completed dental school and served 2 years of active duty, they set up a dental office in Kearney, Nebraska. After 42 years of practice, Ben retired and they traveled extensively. Billie was baptized in the Methodist Church in Ingersoll, OK, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kearney, Nebraska since 1947. She was an active member of Chapter GG of the P.E.O. Sisterhood where she served in all officer positions. Civic activities included: Red Cross Blood Mobile, Junior Women’s Club, Duplicate Bridge Club, Women’s Golf Association, B.P.O (Does) and the Executive Board of Park School PTA for 9 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Isla Maurine Warehime Smith. In June of 2012 Billie and Ben moved to assisted living in North Platte, NE to be near daughter, Jackie Lashley. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, daughters and sons in law: Bobbie and Jon Welty of Hendersonville, TN, and Jackie and Mike Lashley of North Platte, NE. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Ben A. Lashley (Libby) of North Platte, NE, Amy Jo Lashley Johnston (Brian) of Adams, NE. Phllip P. Welty (Amanda) of Hendersonville, TN, and Mitch J. Welty (Amy) of Brentwood, TN. Great Grandchildren are Morgan, Maggie and Maya Lashley, Skyler and River Johnston and Megan and Michael Welty. PDF Printable Version
