Eunice I. Reitz, 89, of Pleasanton died Monday, April 14, 2014 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pleasanton with Father Marty Egging officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pleasanton. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with a vigil wake service at 6:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Joseph indian School or Food For the Poor Charity. She was born November 17, 1924 to Herman and Julia (Husa) Geisler at their home near Pleasanton. On February 3, 1949, she married John D. Reitz in Pleasanton. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Anne-Marie Dale and her husband, Merle Gifford of Pleasanton; grandchildren; Aaron Matuschka of Kearney and Kish Dale and his wife, Marci, of Pleasanton and great grandchildren, Shayla and Saige Keim of Pleasanton, sisters; Iane Gray of Texas and Mary Chism of Kearney, NE. She also leaves to mourn her beloved cat Scratchy. She grew up in the area and graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1942. She moved around the country when her husband was in the Navy, then moved to Milford for 2 year’s then moved back to Pleasanton in 1964. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano lesions for over 25 years. She started giving piano lessons in February of 1980. Her first student was Shannon Prosser. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pleasanton. Her hobbies include reading, music, flowers, gardening, and playing with Scratchy. Her passion in life was to love and care for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She had an incredibly living team of care providers in her home. The family cannot express in words the deep gratitude they feel for the tender loving care she was given. The family wishes to thank Alisha Quintana, Jenna Rae Hand, Sydney Ernst and Amber Hand for the tenderness they gave in her last days. She was preceded in death by her, parents, her husband in 2013, 5 brothers; Gilbert, Amiel, Lawrence, Earl and Bern Geisler and sisters; Minnie Maixner and Agnes Johnson. PDF Printable Version
