Harvey G. Jameson

Harvey Jameson, 88, of Amherst, died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Rev. Bonnie Brock and Rev. Dean Pofahl will officiate and burial will follow at the Stanley Cemetery near Amherst, NE with military rites by the Miller American Legion Post #351 and the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and 1 hour prior to services on Monday. Harvey was born on November 24, 1926 in Amherst, NE to Dewey George and Dora Pearl (Harmoney) Jameson. He graduated from Amherst High School with the class of 1944. He served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII. Harvey married Bonnetta Furby on June 6, 1948 in Amherst, NE. Harvey spent his entire life in the Amherst area doing what he loved best; working the land, raising livestock and caring for his family, even in the days before he died. He loved to visit with friends and family, spending time with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved his country and his community and was known to spend time just visiting with friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed playing cards in Amherst on a daily basis. Harvey was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Amherst, NE. He was also a member of the Miller American Legion Post #351, the Kearney V.F.W. Post #759 and the Kearney D.A.V. Surviving relatives include his Wife, Bonnetta Jameson of Amherst; Son, Clifford Jameson and his wife Lois of Kearney; Dughter, Carolyn McNish and her husband Mark of Ravenna, NE; Daughter, Cheryl Shonka and her husband Dennis of Leigh, NE; Son, Curtis Jameson of Amherst, NE; 9 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
