Ina Marie Roblee

Ina Marie Roblee, age 92, of Friend, NE, Formerly of Kearney, died Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Friend Manor in Friend, NE. Funeral services will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Gary Main will officiate and burial will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Ina Marie Roblee, 92, was born to Claude and Ina (Lamb) Narragon of Mason City, NE on May 4, 1921, and passed away June 3, 2013 in Friend, NE. Marie lived in Mason City until her marriage in 1941. Marie was very involved in her church and school activities, especially dramatics. In February,1941, she was joined in marriage to Stanley Ralph Roblee of Ansley,NE. They began their life together in California until the end of World War II. In 1943, their daughter, Linda, was born. After the war ended, the family moved back home to Nebraska, settling in Ansley. They moved to Kearney in 1956, and in October, welcomed the birth of their second daughter, Lori. After Ralph passed away July 3, 2000, Marie remained in Kearney and shared her home with Lori and four young granddaughters until she moved with Lori to Friend, NE in February, 2013. Marie passed at Friend Manor, June 3, 2013 with her daughters present. Throughout her life, Marie took great pride in every success her family attained. Over the years, she worked in several retail jobs, but was always centered, first, on serving members of her family. Through the years she cared for her mother, her aunt, and her husband. Marie had a gift of hospitality, and she encouraged nearly everyone she met with a willing smile and kind response in conversation. She loved the family dogs, especially her last dog, "Sassy." In her later years, when church attendance became increasingly challenging, Marie enjoyed listening to First Methodist Church radio broadcasts each Sunday morning. During her last months at Friend Manor, she especially enjoyed playing Bingo with new friends. Surviving relatives include two daughters: Linda Peterson from McKinney, TX, and Lori Sizer from Friend, NE; 13 surviving grandchildren include: Randy Peterson and family, Kevin Peterson and family, Katie Dunlap and family, Kathy Kizer, and Andrew Peterson, all of Bonham,TX; Melissa Veronie and family of Murphy,TX; David Peterson and family of Denison, TX; Rachel Conner and family of Friend, NE; Elizabeth Sizer of Scottsbluff, NE; Katherine Shinn and family of Kearney, NE and Deborah Sizer of Mysore, India. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Roblee was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her brother Kenneth, two grandsons and one great granddaughter. PDF Printable Version
