Kurtis A. Keaschall

Kurtis A. Keaschall, 46, of Pleasanton, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Joe Hannappel officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery south of Ravenna. A wake service will be Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. James Catholic Church and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Kurtis was born May 25, 1966 in Kearney to Don and Wilma (Psota) Keaschall. He graduated from Ravenna High School in 1984. He enrolled and graduated from the utility line technician program at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska in 1986. After school Kurtis moved to Lexington, where he worked for Dawson Public Power. He had worked as a member of a construction crew based in Lexington, as a maintenance lineman based at the Kearney service center and was named chief area serviceman at the Ravenna service center in 2001. While working for Dawson Public Power for 26 years, Kurtis lived in Lexington from 1986 until moving to Kearney in 1991, and then Pleasanton in 2002. He would go above and beyond to take care of and help his customers. Kurtis married Nichole Peterson in 1988, and they have a daughter Makala. He married Julie Pohlmann in Kearney on January 3, 1997. They have 5 children. He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church and the Dawson Public Power Employee Club. Kurtis helped with the Kearney Catholic Wrestling Club and the Pleasanton Baseball Association helping with t ball. Kurtis loved his family and taking part in all their activities. He also enjoyed working and spending time on the Keaschall family farm.
