Marylin J. Trampe

Marylin J. Trampe, 91, of Amherst, passed away July 17, 2024 at Wel-Life Assisted Living in Kearney. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, July 23, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Amherst with Pastor Nicholas Whitney officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5;00 to 7:00 pm, July 22, 2024 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Amherst Volunteer Fire Department, or Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Marylin was born January 5, 1933 on a farm south of Pleasanton to John and Christina (O’Neill) Suntken. She was baptized April 1, 1933 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pleasanton. She grew up in Pleasanton and graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1950. She attended Kearney State Teachers College in the summers of 1950 and 1951. Marylin taught in Rural Schools for three years. Marylin married Dewaine Trampe April 27, 1952 in Norton, Kansas. To this union were born two girls and six boys. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage together. She was confirmed November 3, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Amherst. She attended and taught Sunday School until Immanuel and Trinity Lutheran merged, where she enjoyed leading Bible School, Sunday School, Catechism Class, and being involved in L.W.M.L for many years. She also liked reading, sewing, gardening, and playing cards with friends. Marylin is survived by her children and spouses Charlene (Tim) Pratt of Riverdale, David (Lydel) Trampe of Amherst, Daniel (Karla) Trampe of Reno, Nevada, Derry (Cathy) Trampe of Ord, Karen (David) Hemmann of Amherst, Dean (Melissa) Trampe of Amherst, and Darrin (Andrea) Trampe of Amherst; daughter in law, Marla Trampe of Kearney; sister in law, Darlene Kenney of Grand Island; brother in laws, Deloss (Carolyn) Trampe of Kearney, and Delman (Marlene) Trampe of Kearney; 23 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; many other extended family and friends. Marylin was preceded in death by her husband; son, Douglas Trampe; grandson, Dustin Trampe; sisters, Ann, Kathleen, Rose, and Edna; brothers, Jack, Bob, and Donald.
