Michael L. ?Mike? Gierhan, 53, of Kearney died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his home in Kearney. Celebration of Life services will be Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney.Rev. Rob Kuefner will officiate and burial will be at Kearney Cemetery.Visitation is planned Thursday from 5:00 ? 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney.Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.A message of condolence, tribute or memory can be left at www.hlmkfuneral.com.Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Son of Bev and Bud Gierhan, born September 15, 1957 in Ord, NE. He Graduated from Lexington High School in 1975 and then attended Kearney State College. On July 4, 1981 he married Susan Brown in Lexington, NE.The couple lived in Kearney and he worked in management at Eaton Corporation for 23 years.In 1990 he started Gierhan Construction which he owned and operated until his death. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). Mike loved riding his Harley, Nebraska Football, NASCAR Races and building and designing homes.He also enjoyed flying, golf, hunting, snow skiing and playing basketball and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
