Norma K. Fees

Norma K. (Hadwiger) Fees, 87, of Kearney and previously the Miller area died Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney. Father Joe Hannappel will officiate and burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation is planned Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney or prior to services Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. James Catholic Church, AseraCare Hospice or to St. John’s Good Samaritan Center. A message of condolence may be left at www.hlmkfuneral.com. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. She was born February 4, 1925 on a farm north of Riverdale to Joseph and Dorthea"Dora" (Reeh) Hadwiger, Jr. She attended District 100 School. She worked as a waitress at Grandpa’s Steak House then at the Central Café in Kearney. On September 28, 1964 she married Glen W. Fees in Kearney. They moved to Miller, NE and she worked as the Postal Clerk for 23 years. She then was the head cook at the Miller School until retiring. She has been a resident of St. John’s for the past 21 years. She was a member of St. John’s Capistran Catholic Church in Amherst. Until her health failed she was active in the Alter Society and many community activities. She was always willing to help and reach out to others. Her passion was helping at the concession stands for her son’s activities. She helped pop a lot of popcorn and made many pans of brownies to serve. Surviving relatives: Son : : Douglas N.
