Paul B. Davis

Paul Bryan Davis passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2025, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at the age of 56. At the time of his death, he was enjoying one of his favorite activities; traveling with beloved family and friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm, February 17, 2025 at Horner Lieske McBrtide & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, February 23, 2025, at The Coop Banquet Hall in Kearney. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the Kearney Area Animal Shelter. We cannot explain the void that Paul’s passing has left in our hearts. Paul had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went and was always willing to lend a helping hand during a time of need. He was known for his infectious smile and his ability to bring laughter and joy to any situation. Due to his larger-than-life personality, his absence is painfully evident. He will forever be missed. Paul was born on February 23, 1968 in Columbus, Mississippi. With his family, he moved to Wilcox, NE where he and his older brothers were known for their mischievous adventures. Lucky to have survived some of these escapades, he graduated from Wilcox in 1986. He attended Kearney State College and the University of Nebraska Omaha while serving in the Army National Guard. In the early 90s, he returned to Kearney and began his life-long career in construction, leading to his success as a business owner. In 1994, Paul met the love of his life, Janelle. They were married on June 8, 1996. Together they enjoyed many traveling adventures, playing sports, spending time with friends, family, and pets, and anything and everything outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janelle of Kearney. His mother, Linda Davis of Kearney. His stepdaughter, Hope (Adam) Pracht and grandchildren, Addie, Maci, and Cooper Pracht of Berwyn, NE. Goddaughter, Eleanor Davis. Brothers, Todd (Michelle Heaton) Davis of Omaha, NE and James (Tiffany) Davis of Kearney. Sisters-in-law, Debby (Mike) Shuck of Hastings, NE, Heather (Terry) Madison of Kearney and Heidi Downer of Mason City, NE. Parents-in-law, Herb and RozLynn of Mason City, NE, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by countless friends that he loved like family. He was preceded in death by his father, Gayle Davis, both sets of grandparents; friend, Adrian Murphy, and “best buddy” Dexter. While we are devastated by this loss and will miss him infinitely, we find comfort in knowing that Paul’s faith has taken him to his heavenly home.
