Ricky K. Gewecke, 59, of Kearney died Friday, August 28, 2015 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Gary Main and Rev. Seung Ho Park will officiate and burial will be at Prairie Center Cemetery at Haven’s Chapel, north of Kearney. Visitation is planned Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney or prior to services Wednesday at the church. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. He was born July 12, 1956 in Kearney to Kenneth and Ruth (Baldree) Gewecke. He attended country school at East 12 near Elm Creek then in 1965 the family moved to the Haven’s Chapel area north of Kearney and he attended Pleasant Hill School. He graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1974 then attended Hastings Technical College. In 1975 he married Linda Mayer, the couple later divorced. He worked for Ray Schroer then worked for Rockwell International. He was a member of Haven’s Chapel United Methodist Church and the Full Men’s Gospel. Ricky loved fixing anything mechanical, playing cards and games and enjoyed watching all sports and especially Nebraska Football. He enjoyed time with friends and family. Surviving relatives include his daughter, Sherry Mulholland and husband Michael of Amherst, NE; step daughter, Amy Ohlman-Payne of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Kelley, Nathan and Preston Mulholland of Amherst, NE and Samantha and Morgan Ohlman of Phoenix, AZ and great grandchildren, Brayden and Kayden Swartz; sisters, Linda Marzolf of Riverdale, NE, Delila Hinrichsen and husband Jay of Kearney, Karen Brecht and husband Alan of Kearney; brother, Kenny Gewecke and wife Kim of Kearney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brittany Payne; nephew Matthew Brecht and brother-in-law, Bob Marzlof. PDF Printable Version
