Robert E."Bob" Buck, 74 of Odessa, NE died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Grand Island, NE. Memorial services will be Thursday, May 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Rev. Don Franks will officiate and burial will be at the Stanley Cemetery near Amherst, NE. Military rites at the grave will be provided by Kearney V.F.W. Post #52, American Legion Post #52 and the United States Air Force Military Honor’s Team. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date. He was born July 7, 1937 in Lexington, NE to Milton and Naomi (Benton) Buck. He grew up in Elwood, NE and graduated from Elwood High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and served until 1977. On April 21, 1973 he married Janet S. Currie in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Omaha until moving to Odessa in 1982. Bob worked at L&W Service Center until retiring. He was a member of Kearney V.F.W. Post #759 and was the honorary mayor of Odessa, NE. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and drinking coffee with Darrell helping people out and telling of his youth and military background. He was often found in the recliner with many pets surrounding him. He was busy in the summer mowing yards and delivering the newspaper with Robert.
