Rosa M. Baker, 90 of Kearney, passed away on February 17, 2018 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney at 10:00 a.m. Chaplain Thayne Moore will officiate and burial will be later. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and also 1 hour prior to services on Friday. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Rosa was born on August 11, 1927 in Carmen, OK to Russell & Minnie (Cellan) Dugan. She was the fourth child of ten children. She was stricken with polio at the age of 13. Rosa attended school in Wallace, Ne and later lived and worked in surrounding towns. She moved to Kearney in 1952 where she worked at Mystery Oil. Through the years, she worked at WT Grants, Baumgartners, IGA and Alco. Rosa was manager of Goodwill for 12 years, receiving three manager of the year awards. In 1990, Rosa suffered a stroke at the age of 63. She resided at St. John's for the past 28 years. Rosa loved to spend her time watching Husker Football, playing bingo, doing crafts and always enjoyed playing, singing and listening to music. She was a member of the Eagles and Legion Auxilliary. Rosa is survived by her children, Beverly and son-in-law, Bob Edson, Elm Creek, NE; Robert Meyers, Littleton, CO; Shelley Baker Brandt, Broomfield, Co;daughter-in-law, Elsie Reiners, Indianola, Ne; grandchildren; Amber (Rick) Gleason, Palisade, NE; Kerry (JoHanna) Scott, McCook, NE; Cory (Ana) Edson, Papillion, NE; Amy Meyers, Loveland, CO; Ashley Meyers, Fort Collins, CO; Ariel (Chad) Yoder, Goshen IN; David Meyers, Mishawaka, IN; Colby Brandt, Laramie, Wy; Zane Brandt, Laramie, WY; Jessica Brandt, Broomfield, CO; sisters, Ida Ingels (Curt) of North Platte and Beverly (Don) Lee of Madrid, NE; brothers, Donald Dugan of Lincoln and Robert (Marie) Dugan of North Platte; 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
