Sara S. Holoubeck

Sara S. Holoubeck, 73, of Kearney passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at her home near Kearney. Memorial services will be on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Robert Perry will officiate and burial will be later. Visitation with family will be on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements. Sara was born on August 31, 1944 to Henry and Ella (Gerdts) Busch in Pleasanton, NE. She was baptized in the Calvary Lutheran Church in Pleasanton on June 17, 1945. She attended Pleasanton High School and on June 4, 1962 she married Terrance Dean Holoubeck. To this union 2 girls were born, Lichelle and Vicki. She earned her AART certification and worked in Medical Records at Good Samaritan Hospital for 35 years beginning in 1973 through her retirement in 2008. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and especially oil painting. Several family members and friends have her wildlife and landscape paintings. She loved to travel whether it was with her family to Disney World, skiing in Colorado or with friends on their motorcycle. Her favorite trips were a river cruise in Europe, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. She had quite a green thumb and a beautiful flower garden. Her favorite activity of all was being with her family whether it was the kids, grandkids and or extended family. Surviving relatives include her husband of 55 years, Terry; children, Lichelle Holoubeck of Kearney and Vicki Holoubeck and special friend Dan Leuders of Bellevue, NE; sisters, Rhonda Jensen of St. Augustine, FL and Carole Oertle of Kearney, NE; grandchildren, Dalton Arnold, Sterling Arnold, Amber Martinosky and Trevor Martinosky Sara was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Archie Busch; sister, Mary Mayer; brother in law, William Leet.
