Susan ?Sue? J. Fitzgerald, 61, of Kearney died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney.Father Joe Hannappel will officiate and burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery.Visitation is planned Tuesday from 2:00 ? 4:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney or prior to services Wednesday at the Church.Vigil Wake Services will be Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to St. Judes Children?s Research Hospital or the Diocese of Grand Island Vocations office. Sue was born July 3, 1949 to Ronald and Joan (Lawrence) Luth in Kearney.She attended Kearney Catholic High School and graduated from Wheatridge High School in Wheatridge, CO in 1967.She then attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO On February 20, 1970 she married Ron Fitzgerald at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney. She worked at Red Rocks Café while attending High School in Colorado.When she moved back to Kearney she was employed at Kaufmann Wernerts and Bob?s Eastowne Grocery Store.From 1985 1993 she was manager of Fasion Encore in Kearney.From 1993 ? 2000 she worked at St. James Catholic Church as Secretary/Receptionist.Until her death she worked in association with Knights of Columbus Insurance. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Association, FHA, Kearney Young Mothers, and Jr. Women?s League all in Kearney. Her favorite thing was laughing, playing and spending time with her two grandchildren, the light of her life Surviving relatives: Husband Ron Fitzgerald of Kearney, NE Daughter Lori and husband Tom Pepperl of Kearney, NE Son : Eric and wife Lyndi Fitzgerald of Loup City, NE Grandchildren Olivia Marie and Isaac Andrew Fitzgerald of Loup City, NE Brothers Rick and wife Gwen Luth of Kearney, NE Mike and wife Mary Luth of Omaha, NE Jeff Luth of Kearney, NE Sisters : Sherry and husband Mick Maassen of Mason City, IA Barbara and husband Wayne Akert of Colorado Springs, CO Rhonda and husband Ivan Stones of Kearney, NE Mary Anderson of Littleton, CO 13 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents.
