Terry L. Garris

Terry L. Garris of Kearney, NE passed away in the early hours of Thursday June 18th 2026, peacefully at home with her loved ones. Services will be held on Thursday, July 16th at 2:00 pm, at Press On Community Center located at 604 East 13th Street in Kearney. Private burial services will be held prior to services. Terry was born in Kearney, NE on October 9th 1957, to Richard and Ardella Roberts. Other than living in California briefly when she was young, and then again in her adulthood, she spent most of her life in the Kearney area. Terry graduated high school in 1976, and in 1980 she married Kelly Schnacker. Working hard was something that came naturally to her, and one company she excelled at was Curtis & Associates, where she worked from 1992-2002. Terry had three children; Misti Korell, Chris Schnacker and Nikki Stephens. Whom she cherished and loved. As well as her stepsons Justin and Corey. Later in life she was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren; Noah, Briella and Emma. There were not many things in life that brought her as much joy as being a grandmother. Terry spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren, and it is safe to say that it was her greatest happiness in life. Along side that, her love for Jesus Christ brought her a tremendous amount of comfort, joy and happiness. In her later years, Terry solidified her love for Jesus and her beliefs. In March of 2026 she gave her life to Jesus Christ and was baptized by her brother and long time family friend Jim Wilson. With many of her family and close friends by her side. At the beginning of 2026, it was found that Terry had some very serious health issues, and was shortly after diagnosed with end stage cancer. Despite the odds, she still fought a hard and courageous battle. In the end she was able to pass peacefully and comfortably in her home, surrounded by love. Terry is proceeded in death by her mother Ardella Roberts and her father Richerd Roberts. She is survived by her children and grandchildren; Misti and Brandon Korell, and Emma Korell; Chris Schnacker; Nikki Stephens, Noah Stephens and Briella Stephens; Justin and Danica Hopkins and Kolbie Hopkins; Corey and Alisia Hopkins, and Landon and Bailey Hopkins. As well as her siblings; Ronny and Kimbra Roberts; Wayne and Joyce Roberts; Larry and Patti Roberts, along with many nieces and nephews.
