Warren E. Lammers, age 90, of Kearney, died February 8, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Kearney.Rev.?s Eric Lesher and Rebecca Craig will officiate.Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery with military rites provided by the Kearney American Legion Post #52, Kearney V.F.W. Post #759 and the United States Navy Military Honors Team.Visitation is planned Sunday from 3:00 ? 5:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney or prior to services Monday at the church.Memorials are suggested to the First Lutheran Church or the Kearney Cancer Center.A message of condolence, tribute or memory can be left at www.hlmkfuneral.com.Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services of Kearney is in charge of arrangements. He was born December 23, 1920 to William and Matilda (Munster) Lammers at their home in the Pleasant Valley area of Buffalo County.He graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1938.He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1943 ? 1946.On October 4, 1946 he married Rosella Jochem in Kearney.Warren and Rosella made their home in Paxton, NE where they farmed for a number of years.Warren was forced to change careers due to a back injury.He worked in sales and also took correspondence courses in accounting.Warren then worked as a bookkeeper for various companies around Kearney.He started working for Baldwin Manufacturing as an accountant in 1957.He later retired from Baldwin in 1982 as a Vice President.He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Kearney and also the V.F.W. Post #759 and the Kearney Elks Lodge #984.Warren enjoyed his time as a farmer and continued to collect toy and antique tractors, especially John Deere.
