Wayne M. Noller

Wayne M. Noller, of Lexington and formerly of Kearney died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at his home in Lexington. Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2:00pm at Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate. There will be no visitation. Military rites at the church will be conducted by the Kearney American Legion Post #52, V.F.W. Post #759, Nebraska National Guard Military Honor’s Team and the Patriot Guard. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services of Kearney are in charge of arrangements. He was born March 6, 1950 in Kearney to Edward and Kathleen (Kirkby) Noller. He grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1968. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, entering the U.S. Army in 1968 and serving until 1970. Upon returning from his service in Vietnam, Wayne spent some time working in Las Vegas where he made some life long friendships. He returned to Kearney where he owned and operated a construction company. He then worked for the State of Nebraska Highway Department and Buffalo County Highway Department and retired for medical reasons in 1988. He and Betsy were married October 20, 1979 in Kearney. Wayne, Betsy, and the girls moved to Dubois, Wyoming in 1991. Wayne spent many years there enjoying hunting, fishing, hiking, and working at Circle Ranch in Dubois with his very dear friends. In 2006 they returned to Nebraska to be closer to family. He was a life member of the V.F.W., American Legion and the D.A.V. He was a husband, father, and grandfather first and foremost. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a proud veteran of Vietnam. He was also a friend to nearly everyone he met.
