Wayne A. Trimble

Wayne A. Trimble, age 90, of Kearney, went to his heavenly home, Thursday, April 25, 2024 at his home. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton with Pastor Dean Hanson officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Kearney Cemetery with military honors provided by the Nebraska National Guard military honors team, Kearney American Legion Post #52 and Kearney VFW Post #759. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later. Wayne was born on January 10, 1934 near Overton. He was the 9th of 11 children of Albert and Margaret Trimble. He graduated from Kearney High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He married Marilyn Schall and to this union were born four children, Bryan, Layne, Robynn, and Sharyl. He farmed near Pleasanton and Amherst for 40 years. On January 10, 2016 he married Dorothy Farnham at Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton where he and Dorothy attended church and worshipped his Lord and Savior. He drove a fuel tanker for many years, worked for Rex Hand Well Drilling and for the county mowing and hauling gravel. His hobbies included gardening, being outdoors appreciating nature, constructing and working with metal and building and designing items using welding. Wayne enjoyed church and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; four children, Bryan (Cynthia) Trimble, Layne (Anita) Trimble, Robynn (David) Stewart, and Sharyl (Tracy) Hazlett; three stepsons Ron (Kim) Gruber, Ray Gruber, and Rodney (Christina) Gruber; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a brother Bruce. He is preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings. A special thank you to the VA, Corner Stone Caregivers, Tabitha and AsceraCare Hospice for the wonderful care he received, especially his special care givers Christine and Jamie.
