Barbara A. Harms

Barbara Ann (Keenan) Harms, age 84, of Omaha, formerly of Kearney, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Echo Hills Memory Center in Omaha. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, June 9, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney with Pastor Jo Ellen Axthelm officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM at the Kearney Cemetery following lunch at the church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Home and one hour before services Monday at the church. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements. Barbara was born April 21, 1941, in Alliance, NE to Theodore R. and Fern E. (Sherfey) Keenan. In 1947 the family moved to Minden, NE where she attended school. The family moved to Renton, WA in 1957 where she graduated high school in 1959. She married Paul E. Harms on July 21, 1963, in Grand Island, NE. They were blessed with 5 daughters. They established Harms Drywall Contracting CO. They operated the company for over 40 years, until Paul retired in 2006. Barbara started working at JCPenney at that time. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was involved with the board, circle group, and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed being all the girls Campfire Leader, gardening, crocheting, genealogy, camping, traveling, bird watching, ceramic, but most of all spending time with family and friends. Left to cherish her memories; daughters, Tressie (Tim) Nootz of Indian Land, SC, Lisa (Dale)Wuehler of Omaha, Deniese (Brian) Smith both of Omaha, Lori (Dan) Prichard, Lenexa, KS, Rita (Robert) Shay of Olathe, KS, 11 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Brother Robert (Chris) Keenan of Renton, WA, Sister-in-law, Jean (Lloy Dean) Rush of Axtell, NE, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in Death by her husband, Paul, parents, sister, Wanetta (Brian) Halbert, Brother, Thomas (Colleen) Keenan, nephew Pat Halbert Sister-in-law, Mary (Jim) Mason
