Betty J. Beavers, age 69, of Kearney, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 in Kearney.Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Main officiating.Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery.Visitation will be Tuesday July 5, 2011 at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the family present and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.Memorials are suggested to the family to designate later.A message of condolence, tribute or memory can be left at www.hlmkfuneral.comHorner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney is in charge of arrangements. Betty was born November 5, 1941 in Ong, Nebraska to Roy and Bertha (Boyer) Mosley.She graduated from Ong High School in 1959.She attended Kearney State College.Betty married Robert ?Bob? Beavers on May 13, 1961 in Ong.They lived in Kearney until 1964, in Sioux City Iowa, then in Holdrege until October 1970.They moved to Gibbon where they made their home until 1986.In 1986 they moved to Kearney and owned and operated B & B Answering Service until her retirement.Betty also worked at Platte Valley Medical Group as a medical secretary and at the Tye Law firm as a legal secretary.She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and several other community organizations.She was a creative writer and an entrepreneur.Betty was always going to garage sales and auctions looking for a great bargain or a treasure, and she shared her treasures with many!She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always looking out for her grandchildren.Betty also enjoyed helping less fortunate families out in times of need.
