Joyce H. Ehly, age 86, of Kearney died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Kearney.Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the First Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Lew Champ officiating.Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery.Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church. Joyce was born February 13, 1924 in Hastings, Nebraska to Harry and Anna (Aabel) Anderson, graduated from Kearney high school in 1941 andattended Nebraska Teachers College in Kearney.Joyce married Keith Cottrell on October 27, 1943 in Kearney.Joyce and Keith lived in Juanita and Ravenna and in 1951 they moved to Kearney. Keith taught school and coached football and track and later entered into private business. Joyce was busy raising four girls.Keith passed away in August of 1979.She then married Reiney Ehly in 1985 in Kearney.He passed away in 2009. Joyce was a member of the First Christian Church, Christian Women?s Fellowship C.W.F., PEO chapter FN, Gamma Phi Alumnae, Shrines? Auxiliary, Goodfellows, Red Cross Volunteer, Grey Ladies, and worked at the Good Samaritan Hospital Gift Shop.Her grandchildren were an important part of her life. Joyce also loved and appreciated all of the friendships that she had throughout her life.She enjoyed painting, crafts, candle making, gardening, growing pansies and roses, and playing bridge.She also loved her dachshunds, and was great hostess to her family and friends.
