Lois M. (Gellerman) Quinn

Lois Marie (Gellerman) Quinn, 85, of Axtell, Nebraska, passed away May 16, 2026, at her home in Kearney surrounded her by loving family. A visitation will be held Friday, May 22 from 9:30-10:30am at St. John’s Lutheran Church Wilcox, NE followed by funeral services officiated by Pastor Kenton Birtell. The service will be livestreamed at https://stjohnslutheranwilcox.org/ A graveside service will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Wilcox, NE followed by a luncheon at St. John’s Fellowship Hall. Lois was born September 2, 1940, in Holdrege, NE, the oldest daughter of Rudolph “Rudy” Herman Gellerman and Laura Minni Mary (Bartels) Gellerman. She was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wilcox, where she remained a faithful member the rest of her life. Lois graduated from Axtell Community High School in 1958. She married Donald Dean Quinn on December 13, 1959; they embodied a true partnership with shared responsibilities and a deep commitment to one another. Their marriage welcomed two sons, Allan and Arlen. Lois served her vocation at Bethphage Mission Mosaic of Axtell, NE, for 39 years. She was proud of the mission of Mosaic and inspired her family to care for and advocate for others. Lois loved sewing, especially making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Huskers, the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and all her grandchildren’s teams, sometimes showing up hours ahead of the competition to ensure she didn’t miss a thing. Her family will always treasure memories of watching her make zucchini bread with Grandpa, playing games of 'Sorry,' and enjoying Kentucky Fried Chicken picnics in the park. Lois was happiest when spending time with her family, whether they were visiting the Nebraska State Fair or vacationing in Nashville, TN, and Emerald Isle, NC. Remaining to cherish Lois’s memory are her husband, Don; children, Allan Quinn (Kimberli), Arlen Quinn (Suzanne); grandchildren, Ty Quinn (Brittany) Steven Quinn (Frank Napoli), Amber Sims (Jonathan), Brian Quinn (Jennifer Gebhardt), Shelby High (Nolan); great-grandchildren, Rory Quinn, Parker Quinn, Cullen Sims, Raegan Sims, Lucas Smith, Jordan Gebhardt, Jace Gebhardt, Renae High; sister, Sharon (Gellerman) Johnson; and brother-in-law, Ralph Johnson. Preceding Lois in death are her parents, Rudolph Gellerman and Laura Gellerman; brother, LeRoy Gellerman; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Gellerman.
