Mardella"Della" F. (Ellenwood) Eisele, age 92, of Kearney died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Joe Hannappel officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad with graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. Christian Wake Services will be Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday morning at the Church. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Service in Kearney is in charge of arrangements. Della was born December 15, 1918 in Morris Township, Illinois to Bert E. and Iora (Hughes) Tharp. The family moved to Cozad in 1919 and then to North Platte in 1930. Della was a graduate of North Platte High School in 1938 and then worked for the Northwestern Bell telephone company from 1938 1946. She married Kenneth D. Ellenwood on July 20, 1946 in Oberlin, Kansas and they moved to York. They moved to Kearney in 1964 where Della was employed as a cashier of J. C. Penney from 1964 1974 and then at the Kearney Clinic as a telephone receptionist from 1974 until she retired in 1984. Della married Raymond C. Eisele on July 28, 1984 and they lived near Riverdale until retiring in 1988 and moved to Kearney. Della was a member of St. James Catholic Church, a 50 year member of the B.P.O. Does, a 50 year member of Tuscan Chapter Eastern Star and a member of the Kensington Card Club. She enjoyed sewing, growing flowers and spending time with her family and friends. Eisele of Kearney 2 sons: : John Ellenwood and his wife Cathy of Los Angeles, CA Jim Ellenwood and his wife Carol of Kearney 4 granddaughters: Lisa Rezac and her husband Jeff of Big Bear City, CA Amy Cole and her husband Jeff of Los Angeles, CA Kerri Coleman and her husband Jonathan of Waconia, MN Cassi Ellenwood of Thornton, CO 9 great grandchildren Della was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Ellenwood on February 26, 1981, three brothers and three sisters.
