Rev. Victor W. Karg, 84, of Kearney, NE, died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Kearney with Rev. Stan Murdoch. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Burial will be on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Mountain Time at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, Colorado. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Victor was born on April 12, 1931 to Conrad and Lydia (Schott) Karg in Atwood, CO. His early years were spent on the family’s farm near Atwood. He attended Merino High School and graduated with the class of 1949. He married Eleanor C. Lamb on March 4, 1951 in Sterling. At twenty he moved with Eleanor to California to attend Pasadena Nazarene College to become a minister. He led a congregation at Eagle Rock Church of the Nazarene for 23 years. In the late 1970’s he moved to Nebraska and began ranching and farming. He also pastored the Arnold Baptist Church from 1981-2000. He then moved to Kearney and created Rural Crises which cared for people needing counseling, legal and financial aid. He also started Lighthouse Counseling Center where he, along with other counselors, ministered to many. He had a great love for people, laughter and nature. Victor had a special quality of caring for people around him and also a gift of discernment and ability to minister to individuals with needs. Victor is survived by his wife, Eleanor Karg of Kearney; Sons and Daughters, Shirleen and Ronald Smith of North Platte, NE, Beth and Jerry Boxler of North Platte, NE, Alan Karg of Kearney, Darrell Karg of Kearney, Jim and Lynette Karg of Smith Center, KS, Ellen and Neil Dutenhoffer of Riverdale, NE and Anthony and Zoanne Karg of Los Angeles, CA; Brothers, Albert Karg of Ogallala, NE and Gerald Karg of Sterling, CO; Grandchildren, Jason Smith and his wife Amy, Sheri Moore and her husband Jonathan, Faylene Dancer and her husband Jacob, Tiffany Weber, Timothy Smith, Shana Boxler, Vicki Neidhardt and her husband Tommie, Jeremy Karg and his wife Emily, Heather Russell and her husband Jim, Faith Karg, Joel Karg, Hannah Karg, Noah Karg, Nathan Dutenhoffer, Alyssa Dutenhoffer, Chris Dutenhoffer, Aiden Dutenhoffer, Kiara Dutenhoffer, Brooklyn Marcellus, Dallas Dutenhoffer, Izzabelle Dutenhoffer, Hope Dutenhoffer, Jennifer Mesker and her husband Patrick, Joey Karg and wife Sara and Tony Karg, Jr. and his wife Elaine; 23 Great Grandchildren; many other Foster Kids and many other extended family members.
